Our Family Enounters line-up offers families of all ages the chance to enjoy an variety of specially designed science shows, an array of surprising and interactive workshops, meet and greets with science superhero’s and much, much more. 

Budding astronauts are invited to join the interactive, intergalactic Star Field area to explore the latest discoveries and performances from bluedot’s very own festival scientists. Entertainment includes Explore the Moon, Mars & Meteorites – offering kids the chance to hold a piece of the moon, collected by Apollo astronauts, Urban Asronaut, Plants that Bite Back, Britain Breathing, Power of Light, Manchester Energy, Evolution of Landscapes and many more.

The Star Pavillion boasts an array of high-energy interactive shows for the whole family to enjoy. Saturday brings the brilliance of science to life, with amazing shows from football to game shows to pop songs and everything in-between, hosted by award-winning science communication company, Science Made Simple and award-winning local maths communicator, Katie Steckles.

Sunday see’s three dazzling demonstrations – Explore your Universe and Destination Space – by professional science communicator, Dr Matt Pritchard (AKA the Science Magician) along with two shows by Blue Peter’s very own scientist, Steve Mould and a final show – Titchy Tiny Science – designed for the younger science enthusiasts, by Nic Harrigan.

Loveable pink space-mice, the Clangers, will be whistling hello at bluedot festival on Saturday and Sunday inside the UK Space Agency Mission Control dome. Kids both big and small can enjoy storytelling, a space-themed mini-show and screenings of some of the favourite episodes. There will also be giant Clangers inflatables, knitting and crafting workshops,  meet and greets with Clanger favourites –  Small Clanger and Tiny Clanger plus Q&A’s with the series producers and much, much more.

Families can also relax and enjoy the fresh air while the children run free in The Arboretum’s play area.

Full weekend camping and day tickets are now on sale. Adult weekend tickets start from £129 and day tickets start from £35. Children’s weekend tickets start from £69 and day tickets from £25 (Friday and Saturday). Under 5’s are free!
