Plastic Mermaids have been making waves since March 2014, when they released their debut EP ‘Drømtorp’ to much critical acclaim.
After selling out shows across the UK, they holed themselves up in their self-built analogue studio to write and record their next offering ‘Inhale The Universe’. Finding it difficult to create the desired drum sound at home, they rowed out at dawn to coastal caves for inspiration and to get the recording just right.
Third EP in the trilogy, ‘Everything Is Yellow and Yellow Is My Least Favourite Colour’ followed in June 2016 and saw the band back at their creative best. Even the EP artwork took hours and hours to craft from multi-dimensional collaged New Scientist magazines, culminating in one beautiful photograph - another stroke of genius by this idiosyncratic quintet.
In the winter of 2016, the band hibernated in their studio on the Isle Of Wight to write and record their much anticipated debut album; scheduled for release in September 2017. They return to the stage in April 2017, with headline dates in Hebden Bridge, London, Bristol, Cardiff and Glasgow, and appearances at Live At Leeds and Sounds From The Other City.
