Whyte Horses Experience

Enigmatic Mancunian psychedelic pop group Whyte Horses take a short-distance magical mystery tour into the Cheshire countryside to the spectacular Blue Dot Festival at Jodrell Bank for a rare live appearance this July with special guests Josefin Öhrn, Badly Drawn Boy and members of the go! team (they only performed one live show in 2016).

The Whyte Horses Experience is a multi-media journey through film and music, featuring a mixture of collages taking in avant-garde cinema and childhood nostalgia with faint echoes of the Velvet Underground’s Exploding Plastic Inevitable whilst offering a sly wink to the Tropicalia movement of late sixties Brazil.

The evening will see the group play songs from their 2016 debut album Pop or Not, with special guest artists taking up vocal duties on unheard songs and cover versions of obscure world oddities. Throughout 2016, Pop or Not has been gathering momentum and was awarded ‘The Piccadilly Records Album Of The Year’. Whyte Horses have also re-recorded the entirety of Pop or Not with the talented children of St Bartholomew’s School Choir taking full reign of the vocals.
