Some of humankind’s earliest innovations emerged within the fields of music, storytelling and acoustic instrumentation. Celebrating these early pioneers and the rich vocal and musical traditions that have endured for millennia is Roots; a stage with it's feet firmly on the ground but with a soul soaring in the skies above. World, folk and spoken word will abound during the daylight hours with some special surprises after dark.
This year High & Lonesome are hosting Roots in the daytime with Americana and folk artists until 8pm. Late Night Tales take over hosting duties 'late night' where they'll be DJ-ing, as well as inviting friends to play ambient, spacey sets on the stage until 4am.
High & Lonesome
Starting life in 2014 as 2 friends' way of celebrating great, modern songwriting, High & Lonesome has grown to be an annual festival and promotions company putting on shows across Yorkshire & beyond. Spreading beautiful music from 300-year-old churches to social clubs, dimly lit back rooms to grand academies and now the picturesque fields of Cheshire in the shadow of the Lovell space telescope.
