Free Entry: Bluedot presents Apollo 11 Photo Exhibition at The Refuge

POSTED: 9.4.2019

To celebrate 50 years since the first Moon Landing, Bluedot and The Refuge curate a one-off exhibition of never previously displayed photographs from the Apollo 11 mission, from Easter Thursday until May 31st. The exhibition will take place in the main bar at The Refuge and is free to view at all times the bar is open.

The collection features twenty images taken by the crew themselves – Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins – on the Hasselblad 500EL Data cameras issued to them by NASA. The images displayed are hand-scanned to 1800 DPI by the Johnson Space Center in 2005.

Bluedot marks 50 years since the Apollo 11 moon landings with a weekend of music, science and cosmic culture at Jodrell Bank Observatory, Cheshire, 18.19.20.21 July 2019. Kraftwerk 3-D, New Order, Hot Chip and Jon Hopkins appear alongside science headliners Helen Sharman (first Briton in space), James Burke (presenter of the BBC's 1969 Apollo 11 live coverage) and Helen Pankhurst, among many, many more.
