Andrew Smith is the author of the international bestsellers ‘Moondust: In Search of the Men Who Fell to Earth’ and ‘Totally Wired: the Wild Rise and Crazy Fall of the First Dotcom Dream’. At Bluedot he will be hosting four events: a reading from ‘Moondust’, accompanied by film footage from the first landing and music by Brian Eno; a special screening of his BBC4 film ‘Being Neil Armstrong’ (with Q&A afterwards); an entertaining illustrated talk entitled ‘Totally Wired: the Strange Rise and Fall of Web 1.0’ and a lively illustrated discussion of the UK’s amazing Bloodhound 1000mph Land Speed Record attempt – due to take place next year and one of the most remarkable engineering projects anywhere in the world. He is currently based in London and Los Angeles, where writes TV drama and is about the start his next non-fiction book.
