Kayla Painter is a composer, producer and sound design artist. If you caught her impressive immersive audio visual show at Simple Things Festival or her debut at Glastonbury (Glade Stage) you will no doubt have witnessed her unusual array of audio samples adopting field recordings as an intrinsic part of her live performance and recorded works.
2018 Saw Kayla’s most prolific year yet where she released two singles (In the Witch Elm, Keep Under Wraps), an EP (Cannibals at Sea), and played a variety of shows, establishing herself as a key Audio Visual performer in the UK. In the Witch Elm was Kayla’s first track to be released in 2018 which was created with samples drawn from the tapes of electronic pioneer Delia Derbyshire.
