Do you want to know how you can get your hands on your very own astronomical data from a world-class telescope without leaving the comfort of your living room? The Liverpool Telescope (LT) is a 2-metre fully autonomous optical telescope located in the Canary Islands. Owned and maintained by Liverpool John Moores University, the LT has been operating robotically for 15 years providing data for professional astronomers and school children via the National Schools’ Observatory (NSO).

The NSO’s mission is to give ‘Access to the Universe for All’ and inspire the next generation of scientists, programmers and engineers through the wonders of space. 10% of the LT’s observing time is dedicated to outreach; the NSO share this time with school children in the UK and Ireland to allow them to reduce real astronomical data to produce their own science and create their own beautiful images of space.
