The Jodcast Presents… Beth Jones
Beth Jones is a PhD student at Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics, although she’s been around far to long as she also completed her first degree there. She works on the early stages of massive star formation, because anything has to be at least 8 times the mass of the Sun for it to be interesting enough, and how these stars happen is still a bit of a mystery. Amongst the variety of projects she’s accreted, Beth studies young protostellar objects associated with giant alcohol space lasers and will be talking about what these “methanol masers” are and what they mean for us in star formation.
