The Wonders of Digital Making – Helping You to Make The Future

The Making Rooms has returned to Blue Dot to show off more elaborate creations and technology. Pop by the stand to make your own laser cut wooden voyager probe necklace or keyring with a personalised message! You’ll learn how laser cutters work and how the team use them everyday to help bring people’s ideas to life.

The Making Room’s staff and dedicated volunteers will show you what they have been working on and how they design and make all the gadgets and gizmos they come up with.

The Making Rooms is a digital creative space that was founded in Blackburn to help turn people into makers and makers into entrepreneurs. Each week the team prototype products, hire out their machines to new entrepreneurs and run a co-working space for creatives starting new businesses. They also run an open lab every Friday and Saturday to get people into making and give them the skills they need to develop their creative careers.
